For the October walk, we’ve added a brand new walk to the calendar. Peace activist Barbara Briggs-Letson brought a proposal for a trail with wayfinding marks to the Complete Streets Advisory Committee last month. We recommended the proposal go forward to the City Council, along with a second proposal for an art walk, also with some wayfinding marks or signs. In the meantime, this walk will introduce a good number of walkers to the peace poles scattered through Sebastopol:

Peace activist, Barbara Briggs-Letson has designed this new 6-mile loop route connecting all five of Sebastopol’s peace poles. Jim Corbett, aka Mr. Music and Mr. Peacetown, and Dan Gurney, aka Mr. Ukelele, will accompany one, or all, in singing a peace song at each location.

Meet in the Sebastopol Plaza at 9:00 for this peaceful walk. We return to the plaza by noon. Wear comfortable shoes and a hat, and bring water, sunscreen and a snack. Heavy rain cancels.
