Two events of interest this Saturday, June 29, 2013. First, join Sebastopol Walks for a hike  into the Laguna de Santa Rosa wetlands and take a look at Sebastopol from the Santa Rosa Plain. This brisk, five-mile hike on the Laguna Trail East and Meadowlark Trail. On this hike you can discover the entrance to the City’s Laguna Preserve, cross the seasonal bridge, explore “Barlow Field,” and experience the new Regional Parks Trail out to Kelly Pond. Bring sunscreen, a hat, comfortable shoes, and a snack. Meet at the Sebastopol Plaza at 9 AM, and returning by noon. No hills, no dogs, no docents, no restrooms. Leader: Richard Nichols.

Then in the afternoon, stop by the West County Museum on South Main Street in Sebastopol as the Museum celebrates its 20th anniversary with a party on Saturday, June 29, 2012, from 1 am to 4 pm. Enjoy cake and refreshments while listening to the Sebastopol Community Band (two sets:  1 to 1:30 and 2:45 to 3:30) and a revival of Cemetery Walk Vignettes from the past as well as storytelling.
