Joe Rodota trail sign in Sebastopol

I commute on the Rodota Trail between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa every day. Until the Great Recession hit Sonoma County Regional Parks’ budget, crews kept the trash under control, but over the past several years, some parts of the trail have unfortunately gotten trashier and trashier. Now that the County’s tax receipts are rising again, Parks staff are once again able to keep the Joe Rodota and West County trails between Santa Rosa and Forestville in better shape.  Particularly along the stretch between the Prince Memorial Greenway and South Wright Road, crews have removed transient camps, hauled away tons of trash, cut weeds, etc. They’ve also repaired the trail surface in a number of places. Finally, Regional parks will install new directional signs  in Sebastopol to help trail users navigate the West County Trail connection. Thank you, Regional Parks!
