Nice to see our Street Smart Sebastopol program moving ahead. New stop signs just went up at the intersection of Valentine Avenue and Zimpher Drive, opposite Brookhaven Middle School. This change is especially welcome now that Brookhaven will become the combined campus for the middle school and the K-5 classes from Pine Crest Elementary School in September 2011.

Crossing through hairy traffic on Bodega Avenue may be challenging at times, but keeping his commitment to ride or walk to and from school every day this year, through rain, sleet … or sunshine has apparently been a breeze for 8-year-old Galen Schwan-Skinner.
